Abstract
The article shows that the structure that formed as a result of the liquid-phase diffusion of the layer is dispersed intermetallic inclusions of TiAl3 in the matrix of aluminum-based solid solution. It is shown that the process of diffusion interaction of titanium with liquid aluminum consists of three stages: “initial stage” - low active growth of intermetallic interlayers at the Ti-Al interface; “Growth stage” - intensive formation of dispersed intermetallic TiAl3 particles as a result of reaction at the border with titanium and the growth of an intermetallic layer with a constant for a given temperature TiAl3 content; "Saturation stage" - an increase in the volume content of the TiAl3 phase in the intermetallic layer.
