Abstract

The processing method is a complex system-structural formation, which includes five elements: a
method of influencing the material being processed, kinematic, static and dynamic characteristics, and a
processing tool. The application of a known method in production or the development of a new method is
carried out by establishing the values of characteristics, improving each of them and optimizing their
combinations on the basis of studying the regularities in the formation of product quality parameters.
For machining cylindrical holes in engineering, the method of machining without chip
removal is applied-deforming broaching. In this method, the qualitative parameters of the machined
aperture are formed due to plastic deformation of the surface.
The methods of final finishing surface treatment by plastic deformation are based on
pushing deforming elements through the hole being processed. Deforming broaching (piercing) can
have one or more deforming elements.
In the engineering industry, deforming elements with various macro and microgeometry are
used: with an enlarged chamfering facet, with a modified geometry of the rear cone, a conical mating
of the deforming element and the mandrel, with the spline working surface of the deforming element.
