Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the main directions of research designs for cutting
tools used for machining deep holes and determination of their main advantages and disadvantages
in operation. The search for solutions to address the problems associated with instability of cutting
process and improving the design of an instrument for combating.
An analysis of domestic and foreign literature on the subject has shown that the modern
approach to determining the effect of designs of cutting tools based on the definition of events of the
macro level and not takes into account the influence of physico-chemical phenomena on the micro level.
This is due to the imperfection of the instrumental methods of control and subjective approaches on the
one hand, while on the other the lack of a General approach to solving this problem.
As a result of the conducted research and analysis of literary sources it was found that
existing methods of research in some aspects overlap. The way out is the creation of a new method
of research with regard to actions related phenomena on the micro level.
