The collection of scientific works «Engineering» of the Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy has been published since 2007 as a scientific professional publication of Ukraine, in which the results of dissertations for the degrees of Doctor and Candidate of Technical Sciences can be published.

During these years, several scientific schools in the field of mechanical engineering have been formed at the Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy. Among them, the scientific school in the field of lifting and transport machines, founded by Professor BS Kowalski, and the scientific school in the field of mechanical engineering technology, founded by Professor BM Arpentiev, are quite prominent. These two outstanding scientists have educated a whole galaxy of candidates and doctors of technical sciences. who continue to pass on knowledge to their students. Under the guidance of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Natalia Mykolayivna Fidrovska, whose scientific supervisor was Professor BS Kovalsky, at the Department of Metal-Cutting Equipment and Transport Systems of the Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy worked specialized scientific council K 64.108.02 for the defense of PhD theses in specialty 05.05. 05 - Lifting and transport machines. From 2007 to the present, 15 dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences have been defended in the council. The Ukrainian Academy of Engineering and Pedagogy successfully conducts research on lifting and transport machines, machines and tools, engineering technology and the dynamics and strength of machines. The results of these studies are published in the collection of scientific works "Mechanical Engineering". The authors of the articles are also graduate students, doctoral students and scientists of many higher education institutions of Ukraine.

Over the years, the collection of scientific works «Engineering» has been included in several scientific and metric databases: Index Copernicus (http://www.indexcopernicus.com/), ROAR (Registry of Open Access Repositories) (http://roar.eprints.org /), OpenDOAR (The Directory of Open Access Repositories) (http://www.opendoar.org/), Google Scholar (http://scholar.google.com.ua/), National Library of Ukraine named after VI Vernadsky (http://www.irbis-nbuv.gov.ua/). Currently, the editorial board of the collection is actively working on its inclusion in other scientific and metric databases.

The editorial board, which was responsible for the internal review of the submitted materials, was headed by doctor of technical sciences, professor Nesterov Artem Pavlovich, doctor of technical sciences, professor Fidrovska Natalia Mykolayivna, doctor of technical sciences Kupriyanov Oleksandr Volodymyrovych. The independent external review involved: Gordeev AS, doctor of technical sciences, professor, Grigorov OV, doctor of technical Sciences, professor, Zaloga VO, doctor of technical sciences, prof., Larshin VP, doctor of technical sciences, prof., Loveykin VS, doctor of technical sciences, prof., Petrakov Yu.V., doctor of technical sciences, prof., Romasevich YO, doctor of technical sciences, associate professor, Sokolov VI, doctor of technical sciences, prof., Havin GL, doctor of technical sciences, prof., Caganova Dagmar, Ph.D., assoc. prof., Dasic Predrag, D.Sc., prof., Dichev Dimitar, D.Sc., Prof., Edl Milan, Ph.D., doc. Ing.

The editorial board of the collection «Engineering» has taken measures to improve the quality of our publication, aimed at entering the world's leading scientometric databases. To this end, the site of the collection was transferred to the Open Journal Systems platform and an independent review of manuscripts submitted for publication was introduced. The collection «Engineering» now has its own website, which is located at the link: http://jmash.uipa.edu.ua. One of the new requirements for scientific professional publications in Ukraine is the presence of DOI identifiers. Also, the presence of identifiers becomes a necessary condition for the inclusion of the publication in international scientometric databases, such as Scopus and Web of Science. Therefore, the DOI is assigned to each article and each issue of the collection of scientific papers «Engineering», starting in 2019.

The collection of scientific works «Engineering» was registered in the State Committee for Information Policy of Ukraine in 2006 (Certificate of State Registration of Mass Media Series KV № 12132-1016R). The printed version of the publication is registered in the ISSN Register under the number ISSN 2079-1747.

The collection is included in category B of scientific professional publications included in the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine (technical sciences), which may publish the results of dissertations for the degree of doctor of science and doctor of philosophy (candidate of science) order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine №409 17.03.2020.
